Instagram Now Supports Five Bio Links

One of the most-requested changes to Instagram has finally been released: the option to include up to five links in the bio.

Creators and users alike have been anticipating this increase in traffic-driving capacity, and it is expected to have far-reaching consequences for the way brands and businesses market themselves on the platform.

Instagram claims that with this change, users will have an easier time sharing what they're passionate about, drawing attention to organizations they support, promoting their own companies, and more. Profile lets users add several links to their bio. When tapped, the choice will take the form of a Linktree-like tool, giving the user a bird's-eye perspective of all the account's link customization options.

Bad news for third-party link tools

For link aggregators like Linktree, which have grown in popularity due to Instagram's previous restriction on external links, this upgrade is bad news. And as a result of Instagram's newly added capability, users may decide to forego memberships to third-party apps. However, despite Instagram's new in-app features, some organizations may choose to continue with third-party link tools that provide more link display options and/or allow for custom branding.

Although this update is wonderful news for current users since it enables increased flexibility and simplicity when sharing numerous links, it may affect new customers who sign up for third-party link solutions. Now that Instagram has included a comparable feature, users may have less reason to look elsewhere for answers.

More visibility for brands and creators

This new feature will help brands and creators increase their visibility on Instagram by directing users to specific web addresses. Profiles with several links allow users to send visitors to various destinations, such as online shops, blogs, and more. Businesses may use this to reach out to customers, spread the word about what they have to offer, and build stronger relationships with them.

Since 2021, Instagram has been beta-testing this feature, and its users have been anxiously awaiting its release. You can add several external links to your Instagram profile by selecting 'Edit profile' > 'Links' > 'Add external link' from the profile menu. After that, rearranging the links in the app is as simple as dragging and dropping.
